Endangered Male Sea Dragon to Give Birth

Wow…That’s right…that’s what I said… Well, it’s true, and it’s not… At the Georgia Aquarium, the female sea dragon laid eggs and attached them to the males tail. He will carry the eggs until they hatch, sometime in mid-July. Right now the proud daddy carries about 70 fertilized eggs on his tail now, looking like small red grapes. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has deemed this fish as endangered, mostly due to habitat destruction because of increased Australian population and pollution. What else is new? Furry Arrival of Twin Red Pandas

Exotic Animal Newsflash: Ahhh…My favorite species of animal is the Red Panda… Unfortunately, they are extremely endangered. However, thankfully, there are a number of breeding programs in the world that are doing their best to ensure the survival of this species. Edmonton’s Valley Zoo just had the 2nd arrival of twin baby red pandas! Yeahhh!!! They were born May 26th in captivity, and were named Tai (female) and Pip (male). The Endangered Caledonian Forest in Scotland

If you’ve never heard of the Caledonian Forest, it’s time to listen up…LOL… Basically, the Caledonian Forest is like the “Rainforest” of Scotland. It used to cover 1.5 million hectares of the Scottish Highlands, and now, only about 1% of that remains in 35 isolated areas. This is devastating, not only to Scotland and it’s amazing wildlife, but to the world in general. I just got back from another trip to Dallas, Texas, and it seems that I am never ceased to be amazed by people that love and respect animals. Species of Seal Officially Labeled Extinct Friday
