Dried Goji Berries & Goji Juice for your Exotic Pets?

Goji BerriesNow, I know you must have heard about all the fuss about all the amazing benefits of Goji Juice and Goji berries are for you and that it is considered a “Super Fruit”!

What people don’t often realize is that what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander. Usually, if there is something that is really good and healthy for you, it probably is for your pets too…Of course, contact your vet first before giving your pet anything that is not “normal”.

Do some research first. If you have an Asian exotic animal as a pet, chances are likely that Goji berries are in their indigenous diet.

Goji berries are more scientifically known as Wolfberries or Western Snowberries. (It’s a long story that I won’t cover here as to why they are referred to as Goji now…LOL…Check it out on Wikipedia.)

Wolfberry PlantBeing that Dried Goji Berries are full of nutrients, powerful antioxidants, and 4 Polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates), they are very healthy, even for dogs, cats and birds that you may have as pets, as I have discovered through some research I’ve been doing.

People have some amazing stories of their pets being very sick and recovering with the treatment of Goji, or of pet owners that feed these berries or a juice to their pets like vitamins for prevention of illness by improving their immune systems.

Not only are these berries good by themselves, dried or made into a juice, apparently, they are also very versatile for cooking in that the dried goji berries can be used as a health alternative ingredient in many popular recipes.

How neat…I’m going to have to get me some. I bet my hedgehog would like them, and I know my dogs would. I would even try baking them into the “Everything But The Kitchen Sink Homemade Doggy Biscuits” I regularly make for them. A great addition, I bet!
