The Best Vacations are Free – Check out Kissimmee Wildlife

When I travel, you know what I want to see, don’t you?

I want to see the local fauna – The animals that make that part of the world special!!!

So, of course, when my hubby and I went to Kissimmee – Orlando for our honeymoon, that’s a good part of what we did!

We paid for some of the “nature” activities we did – like airboating to see alligators on the lake, parasailing to see the lake and surrounding area, and horseback riding the trails, where we saw a bunch of local animals, including our first Florida gator on our trip right by the trail coming out of a pond…it didn’t even spook our horses!

However, our first night we arrived, Kenney and I rented a car and drove down to Cocoa Beach to watch the sun rise over the water. When we got there, we noticed the mosquitoes were very active and we wouldn’t be sitting outside in the dark until the sun started to rise…LOL

…But we watched that sun rise and saw a small shark off the shore going about it’s business, a few pelicans and some gulls.

What would we for Free if we went back?

floridawildlife-deer If we went back, we would certainly look up some of the nature trails we could hike ourselves, so we could go at our own pace, save some money and really get out there to enjoy those animals!

Also, I know I could convince Kenney to go snorkeling with me!

We did splurge and enjoyed our visits to the theme parks, the Wide World of Sports Complex, took in a few dinner shows including Medeival Times (but that had animals too…LOL…A very intelligent peregrine falcon and fantastically trained horses), and shopping for some great shoe deals.

What would I splurge on next time?
