Air Conditioning in Your Car is a Must When Transporting Pets

July 30, 2009 by Kimberly · 2 Comments

Seriously…even you don’t want to be in your car when it’s hot and you don’t have air conditioning…

Do you?

handheldhedgehogWell, guess what…Neither does your pet! In fact, they have much more hair than we do – they REALLY don’t want to be that hot.

What’s worse is that you may endanger their lives. If it gets too hot for them, they could overheat from heat exhaustion.

You see, many animals don’t cool off like we do with sweat, like dogs and cats. They must pant.

Some animals like the heat, but if you leave them in intense heat for too long, you could literally “cook them alive”, like fish, reptiles, birds and small rodents like mice, rats or guinea pigs.

If it wasn’t bad enough that you were uncomfortable, don’t endanger your pets’ lives – Be sure your auto air conditioning is working properly before traveling or transporting your pets to and from any destination!

If your vehicle’s AC Compressor isn’t working, you will want to get it repaired.

Be sure to check out 1AirConditioning.com for more information and how you can get your AC repaired more inexpensively.

Your pets will thank you, and so will your family and friends when riding in the car with you!

As for animals, they can’t get away from the heat like you can by getting out of the car or opening the window. They’re confined by us.

A Black-Throated Magpie Jay in Dallas Today

July 29, 2009 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

I’ve been enjoying the bird life we have around our new property in Dallas in Lower Greenville.

We’ve got some beautiful cardinals with young, blue jays, cute, little sparrows and miscellaneous brown birds I haven’t completely identified yet.

However, this morning I thought I saw a blue jay in the tree from our kitchen window.

I kept watching it and low and behold, it wasn’t shadows on his blue color. He was a grey, black and white jay with a long tail!

Quickly, I ran to get my camera and when I returned to the window, he was gone.

I looked all over online for different types of jays in our area that may look like this and what I found was the Black-Throated Magpie Jay.

Why is this so interesting?
Because their range is Northwestern Read more

Meet Fellow Horse Lovers!

July 18, 2009 by Kimberly · 4 Comments

Since we’re obviously all here on this website because we love animals, wouldn’t it make sense for some of those animal lovers to hang out together?

equestriansingles

I mean, when I decided to marry my husband, I had to be sure he loved animals too and that he would appreciate my love for them and to help them and this planet we call Earth!

That goes for all animal lovers, I believe – How long have those “Love Me, Love My Cat” T-shirts been out? Since at least the 70s, I think!

Anyway, I say all of this to say that I stumbled upon a cool website today for Equestrian Singles called equestrian cupid.

Basically, horse lovers get to meet up with horse lovers and find someone they could fall in love with based on this thing we all have in common – loving animals – in this case, people who have a passion for horses!

I usually surf right past sites like this – dating sites, that is – well, because I’m married, but also because I think a lot of them are bogus or x-rated and I don’t appreciate that, so I would never forward someone over there.

Also, some of them are very expensive to join, from what I hear from some of my frustrated, single friends. This site is different – they have a FREE sign-up.

However, this one was too unique to me and I thought that many of my horse lovers out there could find that someone special!

Let me know if you do – I love being cupid! LOL…

The Cicada are Singing

July 17, 2009 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

Cicada 12x18 Giclee On CanvasI love the time of year, in the summer in North America, where the cicada sing!

What? That’s what I said!!!

Most people think those cicadan noises are annoying, irritating and they complain and fuss…

…but I think it’s beautiful! It means summer is here – and to me, that’s so much better than winter being from Canada!!!

Honesty, I think the more we appreciate the world around us, the happier and more at peace we are…

Who knows…Maybe you’ll be able to easily fall asleep when you admire their song at night, instead of getting all uptight!

Next time, just Read more
